It's been too long! Here's a garment update!!

Hello everyone! Hayden here. Sooooooo with the creation of Martha's Senior collection under full swing, you may have noticed a sharp decrease in the amount of information that gets updated onto this blog.  But please trust that work is steadily progressing-- in fact, is progressing at such an extraordinary rate that we just can't keep up with it!!

For the most accurate, most up-to-date, and we DO mean "minute-by-minute" notifications about The Cirque des Ames please please "like" our Dear Dahlia Designs Facebook page.  You can also follow SofiaFoxx on Tumblr for in-progress photos and inspiration photosets as well!

But I'm sure what you really want to know about is... what the hell have we even been up to?!

So ladies, gentlemen, and all esteemed persons, I give you a short look at the garments of The Cirque des Ames...

Angeline... The Liberty Horses

When we last left you, Martha had only just started the muslin.  However, over Winter break, Angie has been 100% completed. She is ready to walk down the aisle.
Angie also has some accessories, as all brides do...

Camille... the Clown

So I guess we also failed to inform you all that Camille was 90% finished even before the semester was over last year... anyway she is now 100% complete! Next week, her little clown sack babies also finish, and she will be all set!

Vivienne... the Lion Tamer

Vivienne is a brand-new look for the Spring '14 semester! How exciting! Martha is about 97% complete, with an expected 100% completed by the end of the week!  We decided that she needed a faux fur caplet, and let me tell you, I am SO glad we did!

Céline... the Menagerie

Céline is also a brand new garment.  While her bodice is completely finished, her skirt is still in progress.  She will be 90% complete by Friday!  She too was given a faux fur drape, which really is going to kick up her look!
So in these pictures, there's an Easter egg hiding... clues to the next look to be made!

Can you guess who it is?

Senior Review

Senior review is a garment review and visual merchandising exercise hosted for and by the senior fashion design majors at Lasell College. It's an opportunity to sell your line to teachers, perspective employers and clients. Every year each senior is given a table and a back board to display their work along with a clothing rack to display 3 completed garments.  Garments are required to be constructed entirely by and only by the fashion design senior.  Any props for the table may be found or created.  Senior Review took place on January 31, 2014, and Martha brought Eran, Aimee, and Angeline.  I consulted on the visual merchandising, created the graphic design pieces (circus flier, and save the date cards), and was a glorified hot glue-er for the props created for the table.

Final Announcements!

Finally, Martha and I have both applied to the Disney College Program, and we had our phone interviews.  We should be hearing back in the next few weeks... fingers crossed!

ALSO!! THE BIGGEST BEST NEWS!!!

Martha and I are engaged! Set your calendars everyone-- October 31, 2015 come hell or high water.

Anyway, next week is Spring Break, which as you all know is a HUGE working week for us here at Dear Dahlia.  We-- or rather I-- will try to keep you all up to date as garment progress.  Again, for the most recent, current updates, we have our Facebook page, and our Tumblr.

Thanks for sticking with us, and we love you all!

Love, Hayden
